Things We Lost in the Fire By Mariana Enriquez Review
Things We Lost in the Fire was undeniably breathtaking, I found the short stories that took place in Argentina to be interesting. It was new, refreshing, but also dark. This collection of short stories may not be for everyone, but it is perfect for those who like stories full of supernatural beings--which was done so well. I loved how the supernatural creatures were used to emphasize or exaggerate the darkness of Argentinian life: extreme poverty, violence, drug addiction, and crime. The stories and characters are diverse, which I loved to see.
This is one of the shortest review that I have written because there is only so much that can be said about a collection of short stories that you have enjoyed.
